A variety of transport options exist from the airport to Dorset House:
Bus: The 'City Flyer' is Christchurch's Public Bus operating daily from outside the Airport Terminal - look for the bus shelter signs for 'City Flyer' located near the International Arrival Terminal. The bus stops along Park Terrace, from there Dorset House is just around the corner in Dorset Street.
Airport Shuttle: Shuttles are available outside the Airport Terminal to take you directly to Dorset House.
Taxi: a taxi stand is located outside the Airport Terminal.
Rental Cars: all major rental companies have offices at the Airport Terminal for you to hire cars from. Dorset House is easy find situated just of the main city to airport route.
The Christchurch Train Station is situated not far from the city and close to the south side of Hagly Park. It is the termination stop for both the 'TranzAlpine' and TranzCostal' train jorneys. From the train station a shuttle is available to transport you to Dorset House a resonable rate. Dorset House provides a free return shuttle service to the train station.
Dorset House is located approximately 10 minutes walk from the Square. Follow Colombo Street north to Victoria Square and walk diagonally across this square towards the footbridge over the Avon River. Then head around the Christchurch Town Hall to Kilmore Street and turn left. Cross the roads and continue down the street that goes diagonally out of the city (Victoria Street). Follow Victoria Street down until you come to Dorset Street on your left, turn into this street and you will see Dorset House located at the Hagley Park end of the street.
A shuttle service runs from both the Airport and Train Station. Both of these services provide a 'door to door' service to Dorset House.
The most popular ski fields are located west of the city. Finding us from these locations is simple. Follow the West Coast Road as it heads into the city and until you reach Russley Road (The first traffic light intersection with a Caltex station), turn left up Russley Road. Travel up Russley road and turn right at the first round-a-bout into Memorial Avenue. Head all the way down Memorial Avenue and continue ahead through the traffic lights and down Fendalton Road. This road brings you to Hagley Park. At this intersection, turn left into Deans Avenue. As you go to exit the park turn right into Park Terrace that follows along the Avon River and beside Hagley Park. The first street on your left is Dorset Street and Dorset House.
Follow the Main North Road into Christchurch and continue on this road until it becomes Papanui Road. This road eventually becomes Victoria Street as it apporaches the central city and Dorset Street is located on the right just over Bealey Avenue.
Follow the Main South Road into Blenheim Road then over the overpass to Moorhouse Ave. Turn a light left up Hagley Avenue and follow until you get to the hospital. Turn right at the hospital then follow Oxford Tce until you turn left up Montreal Street (over a bridge). Follow Montreal Street until you turn light left into Victoria Street, then left again at the Green Printing shop into Dorset Street and find Dorset House on the right.
